The photographer
A teacher by trade, I decided to learn photography so that I could share my experiences and tell the stories of those who can't speak for themselves. From an early age I learned to respect and appreciate the wilderness, going with my father on hikes at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Now based in Minnesota, I travel extensively and try to use my position both in the classroom and behind the camera to educate people about conservation threats facing the wild things I love, and the vanishing wild places they need to survive.
Camera Bag:
I am a Nikon shooter, and my current tools of the trade are a Nikon D5, D810, and N1 mirrorless. Most of the images you see here were shot on either the Nikkor 300 f/2.8 (my baby) or the 70-200 f/2.8 lens.
Press:
I have been profiled in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, featured as one of "22 Photographers Who Work Wonders" on NatureTTL.com, have appeared as a guest on KFAN FM 100.3 with Dan Barreiro, as well as WCCO TV.
